We have a new second house –  or a second house, rather than say this is the more recent of a string of homes, which sounds pretentious, and that’s pretty much the last thing we are, we are very average, which is why no one reads this blog.

So anyway, for both of you who do,  one of our first projects was to paint the dining room.  I didn’t like the brown cupboard doors, I found them depressing and the wall color wasn’t all that cheerful, oh and the windows were painted blue.  It was an interesting combination.  So, since my enviornment is important,  I commissioned my brother in law to paint this room first.  And here are the results.  Fabulous don’t you think?  He did a great job and I’m thrilled with the effect –  what a difference paint makes!  I read about transforming a room through paint of course, but it seemed like such a daunting project – the paiting that is.  However, if you have a marvelous brother -in – law who paints and is happy to spend the summer out of the heat of Palm Springs and in your new house and will just paint over EVERYTHING I asked him to paint,  the transformative qualities of paint miraculous.    And that’s all I have to say, the whole purpose of this post is to share the before and after photos:

The red paint does look great, Catharine. Red is of course, an awesome color (not that I’m partial or anything…)
