Hi all! I’m sorry for being away and not posting anything of consequence. Life has happened to me in a number of interesting ways.
I started my own business, began working with a client, and something even more strange occurred shortly thereafter. I got an offer from a surprising source.
On September 15th of 2011, I epublished my first book “Blood-soaked and Contagious” (OMG it’s been a year!) Shortly after my insanity with Amazon’s KDP, someone who read my book tracked me down and sent me the most marvelously geeky fan letter. We tossed a few emails back and forth over the past year, and I didn’t think about it too hard.
Three weeks ago, he sent me an email with an offer. He wanted someone to ghostwrite autobiographical material for him. He proposed an hourly rate for my time, and included contractual agreements. Chap was serious! I replied to his email with my phone number, and suggested he give me a call.
We finalized the contracts earlier this week, and I’ve been working on his story ever since.
There is a lesson here for you, my fellow newbie writers. The lesson is this: opportunities can appear from the strangest places; investigate them; if you like it, run with it. Don’t be closed off to anything that can forward your career as a writer, or whatever your passion is.
Keep your chin up. When you’re on the right path, directed by your passion, good things will happen. I’ll try to drop in an share what I’ve learned from time to time.
Cheers!

Excellent news — I always say: Just keep writing.
Congratulated, I am happy for you. There will be a lot of people who loves your writing like I do.
Hey that’s fantastic! Love to hear from you when you can.
Enjoy the sense of control with running a business! Just don’t let it become too easy to sleep in and/or watch that streaming movie you always wanted to watch..
