This week we were meant to have grammar guru: Arlene Miller, however she had some technical difficulties and will be on at a later date. So this week it’s just Catharine and I shooting the breeze about grammar, and resolutions.

Prompt:

What New Year’s Resolution will you not do? Did you make a list? Write about what you already have dumped. Or write a page or two of what will happen if you do keep a resolution? Worth the effort? Maybe after writing it all down, it’s not.

Tortured sentences:

In Canada, most individuals are taxed roughly 10% of their wages for health care, a tax increase many opposed to a single payer system aren’t in favor of.

Word of the week:

This is from Arlene’s Miller’s Weird and Wonderful Words Series found on her blog http://bigwords101.com/

Aglet (noun) – You may know this one. I once knew it, but quickly forgot. The aglet is that plastic thingie at the end of your shoelace. (Origin: 1400-1450 from Middle English and Middle French).
