Special Guest: Melissa Craig

We all know the saying “sex sells” and for Australian erotic author Melissa Craig, it certainly does! This week we have the pleasure of chatting with her about what it takes to write erotic romance fiction, how it’s perceived and what Aussie newbies need to know when it comes to Amazon royalties. Catharine is busy this week in San Francisco so Dionne Lister is co-hosting.

From Melissa’s website:

I released my debut erotica novella called PLENTIFUL PACKAGE  in October, 2011 in e-book edition and then Paperback in November, 2011.  It’s the first novella in the Simply Breathtaking Series – which will be six books. stay tuned for the release news of the next five.

I am very lucky to be a new author and hit number #2 on the Amazon Hot New Reads for Erotica on the 1st December, 2011. Plentiful Package stayed in the top 10 for 3 weeks.  Yay! During that time it also made it to number #32 in the top 100 in Erotica on Amazon and stayed in the charts for 2 weeks. I am very thankful for making it to the top 100 after it was only just released.  Plentiful Package is available in Paperback and e-book edition. Check out the links to the right hand side bottom corner  – Where to Buy.

I do have other stories  in the making which will definitely titillate your taste buds, leaving your body and neither regions humming. Ummm!

Ample Attraction the second book in the Simply Breathtaking Series was a finalist in the 2012 AUSTRALIAN ROMANCE READERS AWARDS, nominated for the favourite Erotic Romance… I was even lucky enough that I was up against Sylvia Day and Bared to You… Awesome..

A ‘plentiful package’ of hotties in a tropical island setting…, January 24, 2013 By Phylis Vegas – 5 stars, Amazon
This review is from: Plentiful Package (Simply Breathtaking Series) (Kindle Edition)

The steady, sensual pounding surf of the Great Barrier Reef echoes throughout this story as five years after a simple kiss, the young and beautiful Jenna, now managing Sunloving Cruises, handles not only her career, but handsome and long-time friend Ryan, hulky, heart-throb Andy Zucco, and a very busy “singles” life. A mysterious man on a Ducati, Jenna’s girlfriend Emily, and a young employee named Suzie keep you turning pages and clutching your reader’s score card. Practice does make perfect; read Melissa Craig’s followup sequel, Ample Attraction, in this Simply Breathtaking series, for much, much more than just an afterglow!

What really should be an Olympic Sport? Shopping? Competitive grill? Three hundred yard dash burdened with a three year old, a flat soccer ball, full diaper bag, and skis?

Write about either the Olympic sport you could win, or create a bizarre sport that would be entertaining to watch.

Go for the gold.

Just listened to your podcast and all the woes about getting paid by Amazon. Thought I should let you know about a possible solution called the Payoneer debit card. It can’t help with needing an EIN and a US address, but it does effectively give you a US bank account. This means you don’t have to worry about cheques and the US$100 threshold for the Amazon markets and can access your royalties money like a normal debit card (though you still have to pay currency conversion fees). Anyway, have a look at http://www.payoneer.com and you might like to let your other Aussie listeners about this.

Phill Berrie, who was shocked to find out about Amazon’s payment methods and is a happy Payoneer customer.

P.S. Thanks for all your work with the podcast.
