I have a new tool for writers and I’d love to reconnect with you.

I have a workbook: Conquering Twitter in 10 Minutes A Day. It’s a step by step guidebook on clarifying brand, targeting the precise market, setting up a daily, weekly and monthly system for using Twitter effectively.

I also have a new novel, Soulless Creatures, about two college freshmen in 1986 who bet a new car that one of them doesn’t have a soul. Great episode. I thought I was doing social media well. I love most of it and use it to waste a lot of time. But Katherine made me realise that I was spending way too much time and not actually getting much done. Well, I just spent the last several hours setting up hootsuite for a ton of accounts, plus I set up feeds that I want to curate for posts. It’s 5:23 am but… I think this will pay off. Hopefully now I can spend a half hour on it and then leave it alone unless I have time.Good job on an actionable show.

For me, the main idea is to interact with people. Leave a silly comment on someones tweet, respond ASAP to someone who shouts you out etc. Those small things go a long way.

Yep, it’s easy to get so caught up in curating that those important little things fall away. I already noticed a difference today. Since I wasn’t spending my time sending out news articles and stuff I was able to read and respond to others much easier without it sucking all of my time. I am so bad at balance *sighs*

I take the view point of not taking anything seriously. It is about asking yourself “Why are you on here?” if it is anything other than “engaging with people and having a good time’ then don’t bother.
